Your steady walk of transformation matters deeply in the Kingdom of God. God cares about your growth and who you are becoming each day.
God cares about your growth and who you are becoming each day. Your becoming is connected to your knowing.

1 John 5:13 – “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” (ESV)
Personal Insight
A few years ago, I realized that true transformation, not just a professional rebrand, was needed. While those closest to me saw me as a capable leader, I noticed some misunderstood my directness as harshness. This perception bothered me. I sensed God inviting me to deeper character change so that others would see Jesus in me. One particular day at work, I was leading a team meeting and found myself on the brink of my old, direct approach. Triggered and about to respond to a colleague defensively, I instead took a deep breath, steadied myself, paused, listened, and responded thoughtfully. My goal was to keep the conversation light and collaborative. This is one of many moments where I am allowing patience and graceful words to mark my leadership. I learned that personal transformation and changing perceptions both take patience. I remained resolved to discipline my words, even when it means saying nothing at all. My ultimate goal is to speak the truth in love, and if I am honest…Though I have gotten better at this, I am still becoming.
Have you ever wanted to change but felt stuck? Have you worked hard only to be labeled as your old self? Meeting someone from your past, do they still treat you as you were, forgetting your growth? You are not alone; your growth is real and seen. Keep moving forward with the assurance that your efforts are recognized.
Spiritual Reflection
John the Beloved’s story is a clear picture of steady transformation. Once known for bold ambition as a “Son of Thunder,” he gradually became known as the “Beloved Disciple”—a model of love shaped through deep intimacy with Jesus.
From The Boss – The Son of Thunder (Mark 3:17):
Are you young, fiery, and ambitious? John was, too. In fact, Jesus nicknamed him “The Son of Thunder.”
To The Beloved Disciple – John 13:23 – Sitting next to Jesus
Intentional positioning.
Transformed to The Apostle of Love – 1 John 4:7-8
Flowing from a place of love. Let love rule!
John NEVER in scripture refers to himself as anything other than. In fact, in the Gospel of John, he never names himself directly. Instead, he uses the humble phrase “the disciple whom Jesus loved.”
In 1–3 John, he writes simply as “the elder,” again avoiding personal titles or self-promotion.
John’s transformation—from bold ambition as a “son of thunder” to tender intimacy as the “beloved disciple”—illustrates the quiet, powerful work God does in us over time.
Start With Small Consistent Changes
Confidence springs from abiding faith. Here’s why steady devotion matters. You can experience a quiet transformation at any time by making small, consistent changes. For now, start here:
- Identify who you are becoming.
- Does it reflect God’s nature?
- What steps will you take to get there?
Your Turn…
Reflect: “Is your testimony quiet but steady? 🙌 Celebrate the fruit of consistency.” Say this out loud: “I am growing!”
And before we close, here’s one more thing to remember…
John’s transformation reminds you: the quiet, consistent work of intimacy with Christ leads to real change. Your steady walk makes a Kingdom impact. Just as 1 John 5:13 assures you of your eternal life through belief in the Son of God, let this assurance inspire you to seek transformation with confidence and determination. Every step you take in your journey is supported by this promise of eternal life.
